When doing Braid-and-Wrap, you will find that most people use FreeTess Water Wave Braiding and Crochet hair. You can have a simple braid or you may also need Marley hair to add length or thickness to your base braid (braid or braid that you will wrap Ur Wave hair around). Some use their own hair.
