Empowering Women in Tech in Kenya-Hackathon 2021

Microsoft, says that it’s mission is to empower every person on the planet to achieve more. They are committed to empowering the next generation of women leaders and change-makers in Africa. Microsoft Leap will be hosting a week-long hackathon event for female software engineers in Kenya.

In this hackathon, Microsoft’s goal is to:

  • Deepen your technical knowledge
  • Sharpen your interview skills
  • Enable you to network and interact with Microsoft female software engineers

Venue: Virtual Event
Date: 14th – 18th, June 2021
Time: 9am – 4pm +3 GMT

Application portal opens: May 12th , midnight UTC.

Application portal closes: May 26th, midnight UTC.

Eligibility Requirements

  • University graduate Bsc/MS Computer science, Software engineering
  • Must have a functional laptop and excellent internet connection during the program.
  • Must be available full-time for the week-long hackathon.
  • Must be a resident of Kenya.
  • Event open to women only.
  • Must have at least 1 year of programming / SWE experience
