You can go completely under water, but like I said, I don’t want to get all my hair wet if I don’t have to. Instead, I grabbed a glass of water and poured it over sections of my hair and washed the shampoo out.

I usually do steps two and three about 2-3 times. I also go in with a wet washcloth to get between the braids at the root of my hair and make sure all the buildup is gone.

I dry my hair using a towel or t-shirt to absorb the water. Your hair doesn’t need to be completely dry in this step, but dry enough to manage without water dripping everywhere.

Dipping your hair in hot, boiling water helps keep the ends of your braids smooth and manageable. For this step, I dip my hair once or twice and leave it in there until my hair is smooth. Just a few seconds really.

I have a hooded dryer so I just sit under the dryer until my roots are completely dry. Once the top of my hair is dry, I let the ends dry.
