Protective styles like faux locks can be very difficult to maintain, especially if they’re big and it’s a first time, like mine. After having a fake location for over two weeks, I’ve developed a plan or some sort of routine and I’m very interested in my location. I love them so much and I need to make things right between us so I can keep them forever.

In the video below I show you how I take care of my scalp, a bit of styling, not a tutorial, just showing how I style it and how I wrap it in a hat and scarf for sleeping. The reason I cover the bed completely is so they don’t pick up lint while they sleep. I’m so determined to keep these locks for a long time considering the time it took to install them, so anything that gets in my way and neat curls is considered an enemy.

So, I went and bought Brazilian wool hair, which surprised me, not Brazilian hair, but 100% acrylic yarn. I’m not sure where it’s made, but my gut tells me it’s from China. And since I’m a DIY guy who wants to try things out almost all the time, I jumped at the chance. I’ve never made a fake key before. The closest I got was an African thread that looked like fake locks, especially after washing. But the look in question is the African mini twist. I also recorded some footage for it. Look here.

I love this lock like wow! I have never been in love with a hairstyle like this. Maybe I just finished the permanent lock. I am kidding. I never have permanent locks as I like to change my hairstyle every now and then. Sometimes I feel like there aren’t enough months in the year to do all the beautiful styles I love. N’ways, I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

For this I used 5 packs of Brazilian wool hair and got 12 packs for R150 which is a bargain if you ask. I also use Nashe Organics Shea-Argan Leave Conditioner to condition my hair and Umera Whipped Shea Butter to lock in moisture. It took me 10 hours to style and it was too much for me, but I love my locks so much it was all worth it. I braid my hair with wool for about 5 centimeters and then I start to wind up from the bottom of the braid. Why am I telling you all this? Everything is in the video, so please watch. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already. If you like then thumbs and comment share with friends and family in your whatsapp group and facebook group. I would appreciate it a million.
